The Cotswolds is starting to get festive, and we have a number of wonderful Christmas markets and events which are opening very soon. Here are a few for your diary.
Bath Christmas Market
From Thursday 24th November – Sunday 11th December the streets of Bath are transformed into an enchanted Christmas experience.
Wander through the magical high street of Bath, decorated with festive lights, and discover some of the best stalls and pop-up chalets the City has to offer. Feeling peckish? Pick up one of your favourite festive treats for a mid-shopping pick-me-up! Complete your Christmas shopping the right way with stylish homeware, handmade jewellery, personalised presents and more.
Bath Christmas Market also supports local charities, raising over £26,000 in 2019 through the market’s free charity chalet rentals. Be sure to visit their stalls and support their cause.

Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas Lights
Opening on 25th November, 4:00pm – 9:30pm on selected evenings, immerse yourself into Christmas magic with Westonbirt’s brand new Illuminated light trail!
Santa’s elves have decorated the trees at the Arboretum in twinkly lights to get you and your loved ones into the Christmas spirit. Enjoy bright lights, sound, and smoke effects at Westonbirt this festive season. You can arrive any time before your trail slot to soak up some seasonal cheer in the Christmas village and enjoy some food and drink from the local carts serving seasonal food. The Christmas village will also have traditional fairground rides for all to enjoy. Father Christmas will also be located along the woodland trail where he will make a short appearance.
Meet Santa at Dobbies Cirencester
From November 24th – December 24th, Dobbies, Cirencester are hosting Santa and his elves at their fully interactive grotto!
Before Santa’s busiest night of the year, he’s making one last stop at Dobbies, Cirencester. Enter the snowy forest where their elf will guide you past the reindeer and rabbits as you walk towards Santa’s toyshop. Along the way you can help the elves with various tasks including helping to pack the toys in the sleigh for Santa. Then you’ll meet Santa himself where you can tell him all about your adventures. If you are on the nice list, Santa will have a special gift for you. Should you wish, you’ll also have the chance to leave with a lasting memory of your visit to Santa’s Grotto with our special photo option. £7 when pre-booked with your Grotto or £8 on the day.

Elf Hunt at Batsford Arboretum
Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre are hosting an Elf Hunt between December 1st and January 1st.
The naughty elves have gone missing and they’re hiding in the Cotswolds! Aimed at under eights but elf hunters of all ages welcome, help Santa find his cheeky helpers and save Christmas to win a prize and get yourself on the nice list!
Chocolate making in Wyck Rissington
On December 17th enjoy a chocolate making class at Wyck Rissington Village Hall.
Do you love chocolate? Then join this chocolate making class for an afternoon of festive indulgence, making your own Belgian truffles, perfect for a Christmas gift or even a treat for yourself! You will learn some basic chocolate making techniques including flavouring, piping, enrobing and spinning chocolate. Then finally, after tastings, your truffles will be professionally gift wrapped using simple techniques that will add that “wow” factor.
